Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four kids born August 9, 1976, from Beaumont Puy in Domme. Audrey's parents, both a dental dentist and a teacher, recognized and encouraged their daughter's love for theater and drama at a young stage. The support they provided was enough to combat her goal of becoming a an animal scientist. She rose to prominence as an actress in her early years and achieved enormous success. Before she began to pursue the acting profession, Tautou participated in Jeunes Premiers a French talent search TV program which was a part of Canal+ in 1998. Also, she was awarded the Best Young Actress at her performance in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Although she studied at in the Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou is now averse to the Catholic tradition, saying she's not Catholic. Along with her acting career she also pursued a modeling career. Also, she is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. She also has a serious photographic passion and has recently produced an exhibition of her work for the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. The majority of her photography is focused on celebrity and fame, and focuses the camera on those who scrutinized her following her sudden rise in fame and fortune in the film Amelie as well as self-portraits. Audrey Tautou's first big role, as Amelie Poulain's lead actor in Le Fabuleux d'Amelie poulain, earned her fame to the world. Amelie was a global success in the field of box office, and was awarded awards across the world. The film is still the highest-grossing French language movie in the US. Later, in the same year, she was a part of British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet The long day of the fiancailles. Then Tautou moved to Hollywood where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
